Chris Lynch Interviewed by MaineBiz on 2024 Real Estate Outlook

“I am very optimistic about the Maine real estate market for 2024,” Chris Lynch told MaineBiz. “It is shaping up to be more of a return to the conditions we were enjoying during the pre-pandemic 2018-19 time frame. We will continue to experience an abatement of the unique conditions and circumstances that caused a nationwide feeding frenzy with respect to asset allocation, resource relocation and revived focus on living for today.” The Legacy Properties Sotheby’s International Realty founder and president met with the editor of Mainebiz to discuss the upcoming year’s market outlook.

Our agents represented both sides of this extraordinary lakefront lodge in Rangeley when it sold this summer, and it’s now featured in the October issue of Maine Home + Design.  Originally a historic camp built in 1926, local experts at Rangeley Building and Remodeling helped update the property into a stunning lodge with modern amenities. From adding a foundation to winterizing and reconfiguring, the extensive remodel transformed this home into an all-season retreat, perfect for enjoying the lake in the summer and skiing at Saddleback in the winter.

Thinking of Selling Your Home? Why Staging Works Every Time

Real estate news outlet Inman recently published an article written by Legacy Properties Sotheby’s International Realty agent Linda MacDonald about the benefits of staging, both for selling homes faster and for a higher price. “Many sellers don’t think their home needs to be staged or believe buyers prefer to make their own changes,” writes Linda MacDonald. “Homeowners need to understand the powerful impact of staging. A staged home can sell up to 88% faster at a price up to 20% higher than an unstaged home.”

Maine Biz Interviews Chris Lynch on Spring Market Conditions

Maine Biz interviewed Legacy Properties Sotheby’s International Realty President Chris Lynch about the spring market conditions in Maine following his letter in the April issue of Real Estate Spotlight. Buyers are expanding the geographic scope of their search to find the right house in a tight inventory market. “From Portland, there was a natural growth out to Scarborough, Cape Elizabeth, Yarmouth and Freeport,” writes Maine Biz reporter Peter Van Allen. “But now potential buyers are beating the bushes in Buxton, Poland, Lisbon, to name a few places. ‘So if you look at Camden, you see [buyers] going to Union and Appleton,’ Lynch said.”
