Portland Office Welcomes Eliza Rauscher

Portland, Maine (January 2024): Legacy Properties Sotheby’s International Realty, Maine’s leading luxury real estate company, is proud to announce that Eliza Rauscher of Cape Elizabeth has joined the brokerage in Portland with Heather Shields‘ team.

For Eliza Rauscher, returning to Maine was an easy choice. With its stunning coastline, breathtaking mountains, and wild expanses – not to mention the world-class food scene – Maine offers an unparalleled quality of life. Eliza and her husband are deeply grateful to be raising their family in such a remarkable place. She understands the challenges that come with relocating, and guiding you to your home in Maine is more than her profession; it’s her passion.

From Southern Maine to the Midcoast and the ski areas, her expertise spans the diverse communities that make Maine unique. Specializing in residential sales and purchases, Eliza is committed to meeting the needs of each client, whether you’re a first-time home buyer, or seeking a second home, or a seasoned investor. Her goal is to ensure your experience is as joyful and seamless as possible.

From her early years in New Hampshire to her teenage life in Maine’s Midcoast, Eliza’s journey has been wide-ranging. After graduating Cum Laude from Wheaton College in Massachusetts, she crewed on sailboats, delivering a 90-foot yacht through the Panama Canal and up to NYC. Other early adventures included walking the 500-mile Camino de Santiago, living in Los Angeles while working on an MTV show and then in Washington, D.C., where her husband served on the Hill for Senator King. There, her passion for real estate blossomed when they purchased their first home in a high-pressure market. Since then, they’ve invested in real estate in various locations until finding their forever home in Cape Elizabeth. These experiences not only equipped her with a broad understanding of diverse markets, they also led to her dedication to her real estate profession.

Eliza’s early career path uniquely equipped her for the real estate world. After college, she worked at a Portland-based, nationally-recognized advertising agency where she produced ads for various clients, including Global and Fortune 500 companies. As a producer, she operated large budgets and managed a team of creatives to deliver content that met clients’ marketing initiatives. When they relocated to Los Angeles, she transitioned to the world of television and worked as a field producer on an MTV reality show. These roles required her to balance evolving needs against rigid timelines and budgets, and to effectively communicate with stakeholders who had conflicting expectations. As a realtor, Eliza relies on these skills to deliver the highest standard of excellence to clients.

Beyond real estate, she balances a busy family life with her husband, their daughter and two sons, cats and a flock of backyard chickens. From running road races, riding at a local stable, to exploring the islands of Casco Bay on their sailboat and serving on the board of trustees of their local yacht club, she takes full advantage of all that Maine and their community has to offer.

Being a realtor is more than her career: it is another way to connect with and serve people in her community. She could not be more thankful to live and work in this incredible place and she’s here to guide you to a place where you can feel the essence of “the way life should be.”
