Presenting Our Significant Sales: First Half of 2022

We are pleased to share with you our Significant Sales for the first half of 2022. As you will see in the following pages, Maine continues to thrive from an influx of new neighbors and friends coming from all over the United States. We have enjoyed several record sales, topping our previous record sales in many cases. While there are lots of familiar towns on the list, such as Kennebunkport, Camden, York, Cape Elizabeth, Ogunquit, Falmouth, and Yarmouth, we continue to add gems in Harrison, Pownal, Northport, Cumberland, Raymond, and Bar Harbor, among so many other great locations in Maine.

 

As I am always quick to point out, Maine has a relatively small real estate market and the luxury segment (defined by sales of $1 million and higher) is even more selective. For example, during the first six months of 2022, there have been 425 homes sold over $1 million and 33 homes that have sold over $3 million. We are a long-time market leader in all luxury categories as well as one of the most successful real estate companies for sales at all prices in our great state. We are proud that Legacy Properties Sotheby’s International Realty was involved in more than one in every three homes sold for over $3 million statewide.

High-value home sales tend to be very highly correlated with specific towns, and even locations within those towns. We have seen more homes selling for record-setting prices in many new places around Maine. This is a healthy development as buyers are willing to go farther to find the many amazing real estate opportunities available a bit off the beaten path. As you read through our Significant Sales, you will get a much better sense of the scope and scale of our brokerage network. We now have more than 90 agents with 6 real estate office hubs, affording us the ability to service our clients’ needs across dozens of counties and more than 100 cities and towns in Maine and New Hampshire.
