Real Estate Agent

Susan Peterson was born and raised in Millinocket in the heart of Maine’s beautiful Katahdin region and graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration/Accounting from the University of Maine, Orono. She moved throughout the Northeast to pursue successive positions in finance and technology, enjoying roles with Fortune 500 companies including International Paper, United Technologies, General Electric, and Aetna.

During this time, Susan led IT project teams to develop and implement complex technical solutions to support sales and service teams. Susan employed many relevant skills that would later translate to real estate, from negotiating with business partners and vendors, to managing multi-million-dollar project budgets. Along her career journey, there were many relocations that included the tasks of selling, buying, or building her own homes, and she learned the value of a good real estate agent professional.

When Susan’s corporate position offered her an option to work remotely from anywhere in the country, moving back to Maine was a no-brainer. The question of where in Maine was a little harder, but the coast has always held a special allure. As a kid, her family took summer road trips to her grandmother’s home in Old Orchard Beach, which always included meanderings along Route 1’s small coastal communities. Fond memories of seaside camping, exploring rocky spruce-studded shores, and life in a tight-knit community led her to settle in idyllic Boothbay Harbor.

Pivoting to a career in real estate in 2019 has allowed her to leverage years of successful business experience to assist clients in achieving their property goals. With any transaction, Susan comes to the table with key skills: clear communication, problem-solving, and empathy. For her, it is a privilege to represent and guide people through such personal and financially impactful transitions.

Susan serves as a Board Member and Treasurer for the Boothbay peninsula’s Community Center, a welcoming gathering place for fun and learning as well as a supportive resource through its People Helping People and Durable Medical Equipment programs.

As a former certified snowboard instructor and year-round hiker, she embraces Maine’s outdoor recreation opportunities regardless of the season. Free time in the summer is spent boating and kayaking, while winter brings out the snowboard and cross-country skis. Year-round you can find Susan hiking on the many area land trust trails or out and about town with her husband Kurt and rescue dog, Nellie G.

Susan is grateful to be able to serve this wonderful region and loves utilizing her unique skills to help clients navigate the selling and buying process. She would love to discuss your real estate needs!
