Fantastic Fall Foliage Forays
Whether it's by land or sea, foliage excursions in Maine - also known as 'leaf peeping' - offer travelers the opportunity to enjoy breathtaking views during what many consider the best weather of
the year. With foliage at its peak and the weather offering warm days and crisp, cool evenings, October is the premium time for leaf peeping. Maine's
17 million acres of forests that transform with the season provide a stunning panorama featuring aspens, birches, chestnuts, maples, oaks and poplars
ablaze with color.
With plentiful rainfall this summer, this year's foliage season is expected to be magnificent, according to reports from
the state Department of Conservation. You may also consider timing your trip with a special event or fair, which are plentiful in Maine during September and October.
Explore Coastal Maine, the North Woods or Maine's Lakes Region, your toughest decision may be determining which of the infinite journeys you'd like to explore. Luckily, The Maine Office of Tourism has developed ten "touring loops," all with a different theme, designed to help you make the most of glorious foliage season, many of which are
combined with an a special interest. Whether its Antiques and Boutiques, Apples & Arts, or Lakes & Leaves, you're certain to find journey that's right

Sotheby's International Realty® Brand Rated Most Prestigious
Luxury Real Estate Organization
A national sample survey of 1,666 American consumers rated the Sotheby's International Realty brand the most prestigious real estate company. The survey was conducted
by the Luxury Institute for their 2008 Luxury Brand Status Index survey of high net-worth consumers.
According to the Institute, respondents who would recommend the Sotheby's International Realty brand say it has "high-end properties," "exclusive listings," "great customer service," and an "excellent reputation."
"We are pleased with this recognition because it reflects
our commitment as a brand to providing top quality service to luxury market consumers around the world," said Michael R. Good, president and chief executive officer, Sotheby's International Realty Affiliates LLC. "As we continue to experience consistent, strategic growth worldwide, and in light of challenging economic conditions in many markets, our top priority is to remain focused on delivering the high-quality service that is synonymous
with our brand name."
The survey asked respondents to rate brands along four pillars of brand statue: - Consistently superior quality; - uniqueness and exclusivity; - social status as a product consumed by people who are admired and respected; and - the brand makes the consumer feel special across all aspects of the customer experience.
The survey also measured three outcome metrics: worthiness of a significant price premium; willingness to recommend the brands to people they care about and why or why not; and brand preferences as the brand most likely to be considered the next time a purchase is made. | |
Demand for Coastal Property Remains High
A recent study undertaken by Architectural Digest with Sotheby's International Realty Affiliates LLC, entitled "Seeking an Extraordinary Lifestyle," finds that real estate is still considered a sound investment and consumers are confident in the current housing market and that the value has remained constant. Contradicting media perceptions, the report finds that 85% of respondents agree with the statement, "I think real estate continued to be one of the better investments a person can make." Seventy two percent of respondents believe their
primary home value has remained constant or increased over the last 12 months and nearly 80% believe that the value of their primary home will continue to remain constant or increase in the coming year. "This study confirms that even in a downturn economy, our readers are what we call 'recession- proof'," said Giulio Capua, Vice President and Publisher of
Architectural Digest. "They continue to spend money on real estate and other luxury goods and services." According to Michael R. Good, President and Chief executive officer, Sotheby's International Realty Affiliates LLC, the study proves that real estate continues to be seen as a valuable investment opportunity, especially among consumers in the luxury market. "This study validates the assertion that real estate is one of the best long-term investments a person can make, regardless of
current market conditions. Affluent consumers know that real estate plays a key role in their long-term strategy to increase personal wealth," said Good. "And among those consumers seeking to add to their real estate portfolio, the top criteria for choosing a property are location, price, amenities and home features." Christopher Lynch, President and Owner of Portland, ME based Legacy Properties can attest; "There is
still a high demand for luxury properties in the coastal Maine market. We're approaching $250 million in listing inventory, yet we continue to find buyers for these special properties in Maine. In fact, all of our offices have exceeded our expectations in just the two short years we've been in business." "The strength of the Sotheby's International Realty
network and its global recognition has helped us attract clients from all over the world. In addition, the brand's marketing support has enabled us to showcase our listings in markets which get very little exposure to Maine real estate." As Maine's leader in distinctive properties with offices in Greater Portland, Kennebunk, Brunswick and Camden; Legacy Properties / Sotheby's International Realty offers a broad range of luxury real estate throughout Coastal Maine. Launched in 2006 under the highly successful Sotheby's International Realty brand, Legacy has quickly risen
as an innovator in real estate sales and marketing techniques to serve the
needs of today's well-informed buyers. Follow this link to view the full press release: http://www.legacypropertiessir.com/press.html |
