Real Estate Agent

I have been a Boothbay Harbor resident and business owner with my wife Marty (a native Mainer) since 1976, arriving in the post-60s in-migration of Baby Boomers to the State of Maine.

I was educated first at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (it didn't take!) and then at Clark University, where I met my wife in the English Department. Together we founded Gleason Editorial Services, editing and preparing for publication medical and scientific books for New York and Boston publishers, chiefly McGraw-Hill in New York, as freelancers from our home in Maine.

Building on a longstanding interest in fine art and antiques, and responding to perceived changes coming to the publishing world, we established Gleason Fine Art, initially a part-time project that has grown over 31 years to be among the short list of long-established galleries in the State. We are pleased and proud to say that our son Andrew has chosen to join the family enterprise at the gallery and is currently working on getting his Maine Real Estate Sales Agent license.

In 2002 I decided to capitalize on clients' requests for information about real estate opportunities in the Boothbay Harbor Region and got my real estate sales license. I am now a fully licensed Broker. Since joining Legacy Properties, Sotheby's International Realty, I have enjoyed being part of an energetic and professional team and having access to the best listings and brokers anywhere in the state.

I have been active serving on local board and committees, serving on the Opera House at Boothbay Harbor board of directors, saving this historic building from demolition and developing it into an outstanding venue for entertainment in the Midcoast. I have also served on the Board of Directors and Development Committee of the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, and will serve on the Capital Campaign for the upcoming fundraising to implement the new 20-year Master Plan.

Besides art, antiques, and real estate, my interests include food and wine, gardening, bird watching, and reading. Professionally, I am a member of the National Association of Realtors and am a Certified Member of the Appraisers Association of America in the field of American Fine Art.

Living on the Coast of Maine has enriched my life in innumerable ways, and I look forward to sharing that enthusiasm with those wishing to enhance their lives by gaining a foothold in this beautiful state!
