I am a Portland native with thirty years of full time residential and commercial real estate accomplishments. My Maine waterfront living and sailing experiences afford me a working knowledge of residential waterfront and island properties. As a real estate broker in both Maine and Florida, I have successfully negotiated over 1,000 transactions at all levels.
My education and football careers at Cheverus High School and the University of Notre Dame (where I played for Ara Parsegian) have contributed greatly to business activities and Maine real estate accomplishments in the Greater Portland area. I currently serve on the Greater Portland Board of REALTORS® Professional Standards Committee and the Falmouth Harbor Committee. I am the former President of the Downtown Portland Corporation that works in conjunction with the Department of Economic Development and I am a former member of the City of Portland's Zoning Board of Appeals.
The Thornton family has long standing ties to the community in Portland and on Long Island in Casco Bay. I currently live in Falmouth with my wife and our three Labrador retrievers and we spend most of our summers enjoying island living on Long Island.
At Legacy Properties Sotheby's International Realty, I have formed a real estate group consisting of Carrie Martin and myself in order to create the very best personal attention to all of our existing and new clients. Carrie & I have extensive knowledge and sales experience in Greater Portland & throughout the State of Maine with a concentration on the islands of Casco Bay. We look forward to helping you with your next real estate transaction.
